What we get..

you'll have to excuse me if I'm a little less enthusiastic about this game than I originally was

I wonder what else they've dumbed down?
Don't you know adding blur makes any good game suddenly look awesome.

While simultaneously allowing the game to reach acceptable frame rates on consoles

You'll excuse me if I fail to see the logic behind your "dumb down" argument. Those 2 pictures are not the same, plus in the videos you clearly see that the game is looking GOOD.
I have high hopes for this game.

GRID was pretty cool...for a couple of hours and then got boring fast. I dont know why it got boring, i suppose the gameplay was too shallow.

I like to see upgradeable cars like better turbos's, gearboxes, clutch etc ala Gran Turismo and a huge choice of cars that can be custom painted with graphics and sponsors. I also heard that simbin had some input in the handling side of the game but i hope they dont try to make it too much of a sim.

that's exactly my point. The current pictures of the game inside the ****pit are much blurrier and lower resolution. my guess is that they had to lower graphics quality to run smoothly on consoles.

Lower res and motion blur are both things you can fix on PC, I would imagine.

At least they got some exotics in this one. The street racer sh*t was getting annoying.

why is called Shift?

for street cred, you need to use the "F" word and "****" a lot. Someone in the dev team obviously used an anagram engine and came up with SHIFT
