Despite the stated intentions, I am sure this game will be more mainstream than you would like.

It actually looks really good for nfs game. It is grid clone and I think it might be better than it. But they should release the demo lot of previous games were crap. However I think dirt2 will be better than nfs shift

Dislike the fact that this is not very career based like Gran Turismo.

Some guys got their hands on a copy...

. I put it to pro mode, manual, all assists off...I was shocked how good it felt, it felt so right. I would say it definitely feels like GTR2/GTL and DEFINITELY more unforgiving than Forza.

Sounds too good to be true. But it may have better physics than GT5:P and Forza. With those graphics that's definitely good enough for me.

And the "drivers experience" looks great. The engine sounds seem top notch.

I'll wait for benchmarks and user reviews before buying but looks very promising.

I would beleive that. It's a little known fact that the same people behind shift brought us GTR2 and GTL. I really hope it's true. I plan to play at the same level.

I was watching a guys HD vids on youtube of the leaked version of the console version. It felt alot like what grid did, race tracks (not stun tracks, not real world tracks) and race cars. A mix of realism and arcadism. The production values look very high in shift, although I am totaly a fan of the open world design like underground 2 and MW had, so every time they DON'T do this, I nix 2 points from the game.

The point system and the guide line seems like it makes the game alot funner for anyone who is below pro racing skills. Having a guide that can pull you back in from the action and say "had enough fun now? come on lets get back to work, you need to break now or youll endup in a wall!" looks like a very good idea and I can't wait to try it out. I am a big fan of the bumper view but I will really have to give the ****pit view a workout since they put so much work into it.

Anyways, I passed on the last 2 games cause i just knew they were gonna sucks, but aside from lacking an open world, I am somewhat excited to try this one out.
