I don't consider it a waste, is I guess the difference. Gaming is my main hobby... unless you count surfing the Internet or the occassional book/movie/album a hobby, it's my only hobby. I spend 2-3 hours most days playing, unless I do an all day outing somewhere.

I have a lot of free time though... no kids, my girl isn't really needy and likes her alone time as well, and I only have school 4-5 hours a day, 4 days a week.

When you have 33,000 posts on a message board its a nice change of pace to actually be really busy. I built 3 computers and fixed 3 more over the last 2 weeks, on top of working 40 hours. When things slow down after that I tend to appreciate the free time I have and I spend it doing things that are more productive or more enjoyable. I should be gaming again soon. My job is cutting hours and I'm finishing up my last PC right now.

I have 2 computer classes. And one of them is about basically building a computer, and the teacher is a dumass... so its basically play games online time. Anyways on the first day he sas I usually have a kid or two that knows the inside and out of a PC, is there one here, and I raised my hand, and I started talking a bit about my power machine. Half the kids were like whats a ram? :P Easy classes for the win!

That worked for me while in school. I used to sleep for like 4-5 hours a day. put in 6 hours of study after school and game for 2 hours. Also an hour of football(soccer) every alternate day was snuck in there.... We humans waste a lotta time sleeping....(just a personal opinion... please no flaming)

The only classes I have ever studied for in my entire life were foreign language courses... math and writing always came easily to me, and I can memorize enough of lectures to pass multiple choice question tests.

I can't play games as much as I used to now as work takes up pretty much my entire life. But I do recommend making a rule for yourself or with you parents. At the moment, I work first and then game. I really get no work done if I play games first.

Finish all your work for the day/night first and then reward yourself with play time. It's pretty easy once you get into a routine. I think no game for the entire school year is a little harsh.

I don't mind not being able to play games on my PC, I had to endure it before as well. I can live without it.

I went two and a half years without any gaming, TV or movies period. Its weird at first when you realize how much time you're wasting sitting in front of the TV or monitor doing nothing.

I gave up on PC gaming a while back, I turn on my PS3 every couple of weeks and play for a couple of hours but thats about it.

When I play PS3 games, I only play for an hour max. But on a PC, Ill play for hours and hours. Sometimes I even play for the whole weekend, standing up to shat, and thats it. So I get obsessed a lot on the PC.
