Oh boy, the worst crapware available is out!

Norton 360 / Internet Security is literally uninstalled only be a complete wipe and reload. I've dealt with both hundreds of times and hate it dearly.

I don't know why anyone would use Symantec/Norton. It's hands down one of the worst products I've ever dealt with as an IT guy.

Heck, I say if you are going to use AV, get Avira Free and move on with life. NEVER pay for AV software.

If you are going to pay for AV, pony up for NOD32 or Kaspersky. They are the only two AV products worth running, although Forefront isn't too shabby in the corporate environment.

and it starts again, the anti symantec bull****. every symantec news always atracks trolls.

symantec software changed over the years, it is no longer bloated, runs faster then other AV software and consumes tiny ammount of ram.

If you're talking about Endpoint, then I'll agree with you. SAV really hit its stride in 10.1 and 10.2 and Endpoint has been solid since MR4. I know that last years Internet Security has caused my technicians just as many problems as in years past. It's a pain in the ass to uninstall.

I just don't think Symantec does it's job. I can't tell you how many clients I have who buy laptops/desktops with the latest Norton/Symantec and they get all kinds of infections, not to mention misc problems with certain software (Norton's Firewall blocks a little too much ). Heck, it's really funny when you show them how many viruses they have and then hear them say "I just purchased a subscription for 3 years!!".

This is one of the reasons we switched our clients over to Trend Micro this summer. We no longer purchase Symantec for clients. But hey, no AV is perfect. However, there are some better than others.

i'm talking about symantec products in general. i agree few years ago they were terrible that slowly started changing in 2008, with 2009 being better and the trend continued.

Nice find bud, I wasn't expecting a free upgrade tbh. I also hated Norton but NIS 2009 changed my opinion fast. They had a really nice product with 09 and I hope this new one continues on the same path.

Edit- Upgrade was flawless. Didn't even have to uninstall 2009, their installer took care of everything. I've been messing with it for a few and so far I'm impressed with 2010. It looks better, its faster, and works great with Win7 (my tray icon is back!)
