I started to download this on the way to work today. I must admit I never tried the first one but have seen the second one and it looks interesting to say the least.
Anyone try the demo yet? First impressions? |

Yeah this game looked interesting to me too.
I'll have to check out the demo when I get a chance. Thanks for the heads up. ![]() EDIT: Filefront has it too: http://www.filefront.com/14537435/Ma...Playable-Demo/

seems pretty kool, I might pick it up, its different enough to keep my interest and wanting to play it more. Man that 2nd mission in the demo is insanely hard lol, but then again they dont let you upgrade your hero classes in the demo, im sure that wouldve helped.

Yeah I played both missions last night... pretty cool game. I didn't play the first Majesoty so I don't know if it's the same but you don't actually control your units at all. You place your buildings, etc, and the peasants will go and build them on their own. To take out enemies or explore or destroy an enemy's lair/encampment you have to right click and set rally points and put a bounty on them. Then your heroes that you have trained will become 'interested' and will go on their own and attack it.
The one thing I didn't like about it is that if I set a rally point on say the wyvern's den or whatever, not all of my guys will go attack it. Then say wyverns start spawning out of another den, I have those ones attacking my towers and my heroes won't go attack them since they are already engaged with the other enemy. I found myself putting the gameplay speed up to 5x a lot to move things along quicker - so I don't know if this will be something that will keep me interested for full price when it comes out. I may pick it up on a sale, though. Great graphics, good sound/music, and I like the humor that the game has, though. Runs well too, and I am on dual 8800 ultras so I am sure people with newer machines will run it no problem. The newest SLI patch supposedly helps performance in this game, too. |
