To those gushing over this game, did none of you play rFactor/GTR/GTR2/LFS? Shift really isn't bringing anything fresh or interesting to the table.

Same here. It still helps though, especially for a clean overtake or to smash a tricky lap time.

I still play all of those as well as a few others. I love my sims, I can't even play anymore without a TrackIR. Maybe the reason I gush over this game is because it seems allot more like the NFS that started it all. No it wasn't so much official track racing and it was all about the cars but it was racing, on a courses or tracks. After some of the not so good versions I didn't think I would ever buy another NFS again. Sure open world driving is fun but somehow the path they took with underground and after lead them to a bad place. Some of those were fun like MW but those type of games just don't lend themselves well to having allot of detail. Detail and realism that I think they tried to archive with first few games. I'm fine with the fact that it's not even near a sim. Would I have liked it to be more sim, yes. I think it's a good middle ground for now. I'm really happy that it isn't another Underground clone and I couldn't be happier that NFS is back on closed circuit tracks where it belongs. I gush in hopes that other people will buy this great game and support the origins of NFS over the likes of Undercover, Carbon ect ect...

Am I playing the same gave as everyone else? I hear a lot of complaints about the steering but I have ZERO problems with it.....deadzone 2%.....all sensitivities 50%...lock 50%....FF 8.

The FFB is damned good too. When you roll over those sidestrips it's like you can feel every bump.

I also have very little trouble holding the tail on the Zonda. All aids off except for abs.

Sadly the collision physics is awful awful awful. I just cringe when I plow through a car.

I'll definitely buy this after I get a new graphics card in a couple of weeks. I hope they fix the collisions.
yea the zonda is sick. i love how much it vibrates at the starting grid
The collisions are pretty bad. The zonda just slides underneath any car i smash into, and they end up on top of me
The "whine" sound of the viper is pretty intoxicating too.

Why yes. Yes I have.

I played the LFS demo, and I have rFactor installed right now.

While the content may not be bringing anything "fresh", it is bringing it mainstream.
