Yeah I find it odd it doesn't load the EA Downloader while I'm playing the game. And yeah, I downloaded the game through the EA downloader

Okay, after racing SPA GT three times in a row, I realize the #1 thing I miss from GRID is the replay feature. That was the biggest improvement to racing games ever, in my opinion. Nothing ruins an evening like botching the last turn of a race only to come in last after being in first...

Also some SS's.

That is one hell of a missing feature!

People are starting to mod this game

http://www.virtualr.net/need-for-spe...ods-coming-in/

If you play same car/track in GTR2 and then play same in Shift you'll be shocked by how similar the two games are.

When you look at the physics config files you see grip is set to 1.2 ...most likely 1.0 is normal. That .2 is the extra grip you feel that makes it see more arcadish.

Sweet dl'ing and testing out TechAde's Custom FFB Profile Sounds like it really improves the feel of FFB. I agree the wheel rotation should be set to 270 degrees and not 300 or 360. This, this is why I love PC games, mods. Can't wait to see what else we find can be done. I might try out the lowered aggression mod too.

Here is a rapid share for the FFB mod:http://rapidshare.com/files/28631703...chAde.rar.html
and the AI mod: http://rapidshare.com/files/28632135...ssion.zip.html

Wow, the FFB mod is really nice. It cleans up and amplifies the needed feedback. The lowered AI aggression is very nice too, no more destruction derby with $400k cars. slaWter must try this out.

Thanks for the links MaXThReAT!

Just tested the FFB mod and it's an improvement - no doubt about that. The AI mod didn't work, crashed the game at startup. Maybe I'll look into that.
But overall this game is still a waste of time IMO. Hopefully someone will improve the car physics, then I may reconsider the game.

I had some issue with the AI mod as well. Seems other did as well. I found a later version posted in that thread. I'll rapid share it later I'm not at my PC right now.

Damage Mod!

http://forum.racedepartment.com/need...amage-mod.html

Seems those Germans are pretty good with a computer.

There is also a mod that removes all the extra track side circus stuff. But I like that stuff. I'm no purist.

Where is the no blur mod? I'd rather have no blur, so I can turn off the HUD. I want to see my RPMs, but can't after you get so fast.

This is the AI and grip mod I ended up using, lower aggression but not as low as the others I think. 1.0 grip or 100% instead of 120% This mod also contains some new damage options. I'm not sure what the rest does but I only copied over PHYSICSBOOTFLOW.bff I check the rest out when it's more mature.

The 3do alpine course was heaven when mastered. If only online play was available for that game. I am sure I would have been in top rankings. I must have played it everyday for months on end.
