I don't like it much, not only it totally messes up AI pace, they are like 20 seconds per lap slower than me at Road America and thats on the highest difficulty and at default they at least try to keep up. The laptimes are also a lot worse, but I guess thats the reduced grip which kills traction and corner speed and in general the cars are more setup dependant with the mod.

New version up. Real Mod V2.0B.
http://rapidshare.com/files/28880271..._2.0b.rar.html

Few tips. Delete you old files before replacing them. Run the game on hard Pro no assists to activate the mod...I think and use the FFB mod too.

Well I've noticed that going into Tier 2 and 3 makes the game a lot more enjoyable. Still long for that replay feature of GRID, but with the stars at least I'm not held back like in other NFS titles doing the same race over and over to move upward and onward.

One question I had, though, does anyone use the Snapshot feature? I tried taking some standard FRAPS shots but they came out black due to SLI (only NFS has this issue it seems) so used the Snapshot feature whereby it uploads the picture to the nfs website.

Any idea if these are legit shots? They look right to me, but I wonder if it uploads the actual screenshot or if it take the track, car positions, etc... and generates its own shot?

Optimized for G25 but should work with other wheels as well.

But you have to unpack the whole game. Not sure if this mod is worth it...
I saw this one. Sounds like it's not as good as the others, it essentially cripples the AI. I might give it try.

What replay feature are you talking about? Shift has okay replays.

Lol, yeah that's the feature I like... It's not as if you HAD to use it in GRID, and the higher level you played the fewer you had. But yeah, I did use it and loved the feature.

Been playing it a few days now. I'm using the PS3 sixaxis controller and up until I tried to change the gas and brake to the large trigger buttons to get more control over the throttle and braking, it worked like a champ but now, it's freaking out.

when the race starts, the car will be in first gear but it'll just be bouncing off the rev limiter. If I tap the throttle a few times, it snaps out of it and goes but more often than not, it's got a crazy jerking and bucking to the movement of the car like it's trying to slam on brakes repeatedly.

I tried rebooting but it didn't help... I also tried putting the gas/brake back to the original buttons I had and it's screwing up with the old button config now

I know the PS3 controller is sort of a hacked together solution but it worked flawlessly for the last several days and now it's crazy.

I don't have the $$ for a full out racing wheel and would like to just get a nice force feedback game pad (doesn't have to be wireless) that can give me the same level of control/function as the ps3 controller. Smooth throttle and braking control and decent steering response from the analog sticks would be the main things I want.

BTW, as far as my cars go, I've only got a few. I started with the audi wagon, did a turbo upgrade that got me by until I got get the Cayman S, did all the suspension/turbo upgrades then got the Murcialago that I've got works converted at this point and now the Zonda R.

Edit: how's this one?

I don't need anything crazy hardcore. I don't consider myself a hardcore racing sim player but when I play racing games, I usually just play until I get bored with the tracks and stuff.

I'm sure others here will agree. A wheel is one of the best fun/cost purchases you'll ever make.

For $20 more you can buy a used DFP.

Seriously, does ANYONE have an aggresive profile (as per the profile pic)?

I love the game but I think this aggressive portion of it is ridiculous and should be scraped in the next patch, along with the all too aggressive AI.

I think you'd have to be trading paint half the race to even have a chance of getting more aggressive points than precision ones. And all I see online are people's precision profiles anyway.

So, does anyone actually have an aggressive one?

true but if I'm going to get a wheel, I may as well just get the G25 so I can use it whenever gran tourismo 5 comes out. big step up in $$ though.

You could still use a DFP with GT5. I've had a DFP for 4 years now and I couldn't be happier with it. I'd like the G25 purely because it's a more modern piece of hardware but everytime I think I'm ready to upgrade the DFP makes it hard for me to justify it because it still feels superb in all the racing sims I use, which is basically them all except iRacing.

I'd genuinely recommend giving a used DFP a go as they're so cheap now. Plus with the G27 just being released the price of the G25 may start to fall by a decent margin which means you could pick one up if you feel the DFP isn't for you.

well... if I got the G25, it'd be for christmas and if I'm going to get a wheel, I'd want to go all out (not fanatec porsche all out) but I think mentally, I'd think I would want the G25 if I did get the DFP... like I feel that I would out grow the wheel and want the better FFB and from what I've gathered, more solid feel and construction?
