Default Apache: Air Assault Feedback Thread

I just went ahead and got Apache: Air Assault through download after trying the demo. I'm finding the gameplay is really fun. I'm a big fan of chopper sims. I just got DCS: Black Shark too. Apache: Air Assault is nothing like Black Shark. Gaijin Entertainment is the dev, they did IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. It's part sim part arcade with easy and sim settings. I've only used the sim setting. Flying is dynamic and kind of hard but not if you know what you’re doing. I like using the mouse but I've also tried with my sidewinder and it's perfect. I just prefer the mouse for this type of game switching between FLIR and ****pit. The best part of the game has to be the weapons and blowing everything up. Not too shabby in the graphics department at all, everything looks great and sounds very good. I turned off the motion blur it's a performance killer and doesn't look that good. FLIR mode is one of the best parts of this game. Put it in auto hover and go to town. I've been through about 6 missions. Good location changes and objectives. Kill this, protect this, escort that. Pretty standard but fun and challenging. The game also works with the TrackIR. Where ever you look is were your cannon is pointed, pretty cool. If you like Chopper games arcade or sims this game is actually really fun and after playing Black Shark it’s a nice relaxed arcade/semi sim heli game.

Quite a bit of fun.

There is no PC demo for this game. Only Xbox 360 and PS3.
I got the PS3 demo awhile back and now have the PC game because I`d rather have it on PC if it`s available on it.

The link to the demo is for a 2004 game. Just not the same at all.

Shoot didn't even notice that was the wrong game, LOL. Yeah I tried it on a PS3, I just figured there was a PC demo too and did a quick search and link.

Testing the full demo here. It's a solid and definitely challenging game. Will buy this soon as I find the DVD locally.

Nice screen grabs! Love Apache Air Assault myself, rocking it with the Saitek Aviator joy. Has a nice middle ground, not expert enough that it's impossible to play and not novice enough to frustrate the crap out of you. Thumbs up
