The title update finally went live....

* 5.1 Surround Sound was not working properly for some
users.

* Several crashes for users running ATI cards have been fixed
(most often when accessing Display Options in game).

* Performance improved on ATI cards.

* Cursor Sensitivity for 360 controller has been tweaked.
Before, moving diagonal and vertical adjustments moved at
different speeds. They now move at equal speeds.

* Turret Sensitivity has been adjusted to work without having
to drop the base value.

* MP Playlists will be updated to include all maps and modify
certain options. Currently, a few maps are only available
through Custom Matches.

* Some overlapping text and icons have been fixed.

* Modding will be disabled in online matchmaking games with
this patch. It will still be available in LAN games, though
no XP will be awarded there.

Default Re: Official Red Faction Guerilla thread

okay nvm got it to work from help from people on the steam forums

Okay on windows 7 i first did this.
"C:\Users\Nate Jones\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Updates\545108 37\Content\rfg_updater.exe" /f "D:\Steam Folder\Steam\steamapps\common\red

faction guerrilla"

Then I ran it it updated and worked fine went back into game kept asking me to update it... repetitively giving me the same dang thing so I'm like

wtf. then two people made this post.

"but it seems to create another directory in my Steam directory. i.e.

RFG is in D:/Steam\steamapps\common\red faction guerrilla

But after running the update, there's another directory called

D:/Steam\steamapps\common\red

With a couple of directories, the .exe file, and so on. Should I just copy the contents of that folder into the main RFG folder which is D:\Steam

Folder\steamapps\common\red faction guerrilla and launched the game and gfwl signed me right in

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Just started up Steam to see RF:G getting what appears to be a very large update, I'm guessing it'll be around 400MB once it finishes downloading. Nothing in the update news or the official forums/website on what the update does.

Final update size was 300MB, no idea what it did! Nothing really seems different in the game and the executable is still the same version. Perhaps it was simply the Live update but in Steam form.

If this is like the first one... should be released by September '10.

So what are you guys doing to get playable framerates. I just played about 30 minutes and fraps is reporting fps in teh 20s.

Turned down all the settings and got maybe 2 or 3 fps. Ugh no wonder this title didn't sell well on PC. My gtx 480 will be here soon so I think I am gonna wait unless there are some cfg file I can tweak.

Actually I read somewhere it did sell well on PC... forget where.

In any case, it certainly sounds like you have an issue, not poor performance, unless you have an ancient PC.

GTX 480 runs RF:G like a raped ape....

Max settings, 1680x1050 DX10 with AO , sun shafts, everything enabled, w/ 8xAA, I'm getting 100+ fps steady. I think the drops were to 80fps, if that. My HD5870 was running 30-60fps at the same settings, its not even close. ...however you need a quad core CPU since Havok physics is all handled by the CPU. My i7 is running 4.0Ghz with HT on right now. So if you have a weak CPU or dual core you might not see such fps.
