Wow, it sure is running slow. I´m on Vista 64 and the performance when blowing up that first building is really bad. Using DX9 and turning off threaded optimization helped, but not enough. This one seems to be joining Cryostasis in the waiting line for a new system.

The patch is getting closer: http://community.redfaction.com/forums/topic/7426
It probably won´t run any smoother but hopefully some or most issues will be fixed.

Good to hear, I'm not having any issues with the game myself, so while the patch has been delayed an absurdly long time, I don't really mind. What I find interesting is how in that thread a guy claims that he gets a better FPS when he switches the program from 'high priority' to 'low priority.' I don't see why that would possibly help at all?

Time to ditch the dual. Im running a Q9550@4.3ghz with a GTX 275 and this game runs great for me in DX10 at 1920X1200 with 4XAA. Turning off soft shadows and sun shafts helped a ton.

"Why won't my audio work!? Why is my modem sharing the same IRQ as my soundcard?! I need to free up HOW much RAM in base memory to get the .exe to run!?" I agree with you Narcissist, things were much harder in the old days. It's far easier to get things running now than ever.

They were much harder. himem, loading sound card drivers in DOS, mouse drivers, then praying you had enough memory to launch the game.
