Default Witcher Enhanced Edition horrible performance

My rig is in my sig. Yeah its kinda old but so is the Witcher.

Ok, here is the issues, outside the first town i get horrible fps, always under 30 and sometimes under 20 by the river. This is on high and medium and even low. Inside my fps are through the roof. What gives? Is its a driver issue?

I'm running sp3 and running the lastest drivers for my 8800GTs.

Just booted it up and on all the lowest possible settings only 40fps max and some dips down to 31 and 32. Something has to be up.

It was a pretty demanding game, actually... I remember my last rig chugging at max settings and that was a Q600 and a GTX 260.

Unless I had the same problem as you... lol.

Their engine isn't demanding, it's that its poorly optimized. It takes forever to load a level and they aren't even that big. The funny thing is that they are running just a customized version of the Aurora Engine that ran Neverwinter Nights 1.

You are wrong. EE 1.5 load Times are ... Much faster. It laods like a couple of seconds now. Not minutes like release

I had no problems with this game that I can recall honestly. Everything ran pretty smooth on max settings. Then again I also use my 37'' LCD TV at 1280x720. Even playing on my regular monitor at 1280x1024 its all good.

What resolution are you trying to play at?

The game runs well on my laptop with medium settings and slows down near fire etc.

But nowadays I only play games on my desktop and on the highest setting with 50+ fps

Time for a new rig!

The load times were fixed shortly after the game was released. Not a year later.
