UPDATE: We just received a comment from Microsoft. "Microsoft has no plans to purchase Electronic Arts." Clears that right up, now doesn't it?

If it were to happen nothing would change, EA makes almost all its money from multi-platform releases to make them an exclusive developer would lose any profit MS were to gain from the titles.

It's nothing but a fake rumor, much like the one that Disney was going to buy EA.

I just believe that Microsoft should stick to software, although it has a couple of good games. Just my personal opinion

But it doesn't even matter. Its a confirmed fake rumor.

Well, there you go, and now you know.
Takeover or not, something caused EA's stock to jump like 5% today. Are the world's financial markets really so susceptible to unfounded rumors that a blog post and/or a whispered conversation will really result in the movement of millions

so you think that MS would keep them multi-platform, i doubt it.

they would make the most important series RROD_Box only. can you image how many hardware sales would MS make if they would make Madden RROD_Box only.

EA is a large supporter of PC, despite all the crap they get.

MS is not.

So this would have been bad, obviously.

Glad it isn't true.

true or not, the real truth is that we don't know

why would MS say the truth, if this is some really stages of takeover, we would be the last to know.

I hope it never happens, as Nekro says it would mean tons of 360 "exclusives", and exclusives are the worst thing has ever happened to gaming
