Thanks for the reply !
I will have a look and see how I go about installing this, do you think this driver will be included in Karmic by any chance ? I am concerned if I enable the new driver and I have a problem, how do I back it out. Had an issue like this once before and gave me a lot of grief. Any tips or thoughts greatly appreciated Cheers Richard |

Have the same problem.
Laptop Acer Aspire 5739G (6500, 4Gb, 320Gb) with Nvidia G210M (512Mb) onboard. OS - Ubuntu 9.04 x86 (clean install with all updates from official reps). I've tried 185.18.36, 190.32, 190.36. Installing NVIDIA stable drivers 185.18.36 causes splitting screen to 6 identic copies of desktop with small resolution and almost unreadable fonts. Installing NVIDIA beta drivers 190.32 and 190.36 causes black screen after reboot (X-server doesn't start at all). Have linked the PPA and key into Synaptic but package for 190 driver does not appear Try to filter packages by source. I've attached nvidia-bug-report.log to this reply. |

Thanks for the reply but from what I have read that version of the driver does not cover the G210M, on this forum there is an entry for the new 190.42 RC which states that this now supports the G210M chipset (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show....php?p=2108701).
Thanks for your trouble Richard |
