This is just typical of the immaturity of the members on these forums the guy is asking for advice for Christ sake.

I would look into a better PSU for all that cool hardware.

This is a little more expensive but well worth it IMO...I'm sure others will agree.

I would go with a quad core CPU and 4Gb of memory. The rest looks pretty good to me.

I don't know anything about that power supply brand, but I think if they aren't much more you'd be better off with a Corsair, Silverstone, PC Power & Cooling or even an Antec or an OCZ.

^ Agreed on the RAM, but not the quad. Otherwise looks good.

As for the mobo, you can't go far wrong with a good old Asus P5K

EDIT: Might wanna beef up that GFX card. As much as I love the 260 it'll struggle at 1920 x 1080 on most recent games at high settings. I suppose it depends on how fussy you are about high settings

I'm not a PSU junkie, but I have a Corsair power supply (HX520W) and it's been fine on my E8400 w/4 HDD and a 192 core GTX260. It's been a while since I've looked at components so I don't know if all of those items are the best value for the price, but it's very similar to what I'm running and I'm perfectly happy with it. Most of my gaming is done through Wine though, so I'm generally limited to games that are a bit older like Half-Life 2, CoD4, Mass Effect, etc. The new Wolfenstein ran well, but that's the Doom3 engine which is 5 years old. Games like Crysis would probably push the card alot more.

I think everyone now is going for I7 processors now, but that's just too expensive for me. I usually buy every 3 years and only spend $500-700, with maybe $200 going to a processor and another $115 to a motherboard. An I7 motherboard and processor would eat all that up and leave me with nothing for a PSU, memory, or video card. I'm only a year and a half into this system, so I'm sure I7 components will be at the price point I want in the next 18 months.

i7 is going to be faster but more expensive too, and you need the corresponding mobo and DDR3. That 8400 should get you to 4.0ghz or so, and should be plenty fast for almost any game, IMO. But if you want the best, i7 920 is a great chip too.

Just got to your cpu buddy, I price is an issue , as it is for me, then I would change your choice of cpu to Q8400 only a little more money for much better performance, you case looks solid , and also you graphics card is fine.

I have gotten an Asus p5q se/r and it is available at ebuyer. this is good solid motherboard.
