I just bought Operation Flashpoint 2 and I think Arma 2 looks much better overall. Even with 16xAA, supersampled transparency and 16xAA forced through Nhancer it still looks bad.

Wouldn't matter anyway, they both pale in comparison, gameplay wise, to the first Operation Flashpoint. This so-called "sequel" has consolitis written all over it.

What a let down.

Well first I'm not a kid. Second those aren't vanilla ARMA II, but mine certainly were and looked like ****. I haven't really gotten into OFDR 2 yet, so those aren't the "best" they are just a few screenshots I took the other day. Been playing Shift and Red Faction so I haven't even officially started OFDR 2 but from what I've seen it looks so much better than what I see in ARMA II. Again I just started a quick mission in ARMA II and those are the screens I snapped. Everyone is entitled to their opinion you prefer ARMA II, I prefer OFDR 2.

Well turn some AF on OFPDR 2. Love how you crank up ARMA II but leave AF off on OFPDR 2. ARMA II still looks like a fuzzy, blurry mess to me.

Why should the title be "Armed Assault 2"? That would be really weird because there is no game with that name.
The only games we have talked about here are DR and ArmA2.

No it should be called "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" which is the actual name of the game.

Personally I call this game "DR" or "Dragon Rising" which fits it much better because it has nothing to with the original OFP.

Yeah those pics need AF bad. I wish the demo would hurry up and come out.

OFDR has its own graphical glitches as well. I've noticed this especially on Mission 6, where at night, there are these terrible white dots that flash on the trees. It doesn't happen during day missions, and it doesn't happen when night vision is equipped. Its distracting, but not too terrible.

I was hoping for a little environmental variety as well, but its all the same foliage and trees, with the intermittent village. It is a small island, so I don't expect the gamut of climate zones, but a little change in scenery for some of the missions would have been nice.
