I made an lspci -nn which gives 02:00.1 Audio device [0403]: nVidia Corporation Device [10de:0be3] (rev a1) So i added this id 10de:0be3 to the file. Than recompiled alsa, but no luck. Only the motherboards HDA intel cards are appearing. There is no entry in /proc/asound either. So it is either not the correct id number i used or it is something else. Can anyone help ? I am using the latest 190 series nvidia driver. |

Maybe this new driver release enables HW vdpau upscaling and/or HDMI sound ?
Code:
Added support for OpenGL 3.2. Added support for NVIDIA Quadro SDI Capture, part of the Quadro Digital Video Pipeline. Added support for the following GPUs: GeForce G102M GeForce GT 220 GeForce G210 GeForce G210M GeForce GT 230M GeForce GT 240M GeForce GTS 250M GeForce GTS 260M Updated the NVIDIA X driver to allow, on GeForce 8 or greater GPUs, more modes to validate on digital display devices whose EDIDs report very constrained HorizSync or VertRefresh ranges. Fixed a randomly occuring X server crash caused by the PixmapCache option. Increased the allowed amount of overscan compensation from 100 to 200. On GPUs with VDPAU feature set B, VDPAU's handling of some corrupted or incorrectly formatted H.264 and MPEG streams has been improved. Fixed a memory allocation problem with pre-GeForce 8 GPUs that caused GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap clients (e.g., Compiz, KDE 4) to display incorrect contents. |

Hi everyone.
I was able to patch alsa-driver code to recognize the G210 card's HDMI audio device. It was not easy. I had to boot into Win7 to do it I attached the patch how i did it. Now it is showing as card 0, device 3 hdmi device just like the ones on the motherboards. the problem is that alsamixer is showing 4 different pcm devices. Strangly in Win7 device manager there were exactly 4 devices showing as well. Maybe it has some software mixing ? Any idea ? Speaker test -Dhw:0,3 -c2 work, but receiver does not give sound. ![]() I opened up a new thread about this problem: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=140264 |
