Default nvidia-settings doesn't modify the power source and memory clock values under X

I'm running debian stable lenny with backports on an eeepc 1201N. So I have the nvidia ion first generation. I'm using the Nvidia Driver version 190.53 (I'm using normally the debian packages from unstable, but the last nvidia package from unstable is not compatible with stable). But the 190.53 works out of the box. (I attach the well-known nvidia-bug-report.log, but it's an old one...I don't have the 1201N at work...so my kernel is 2.6.32)

My problem is a minor problem (I hope ) :
When I'm on battery, when I enter startx, the powermizer from nvidia-settings shows me : power source : Battery. When I plug the AC, this value is not updated. So the power source is always "Battery". The same appears, when I'm on AC and then I start X : powermizer shows me : power soruce : AC. When I unplug, this is not updated.

I notice that the frequency from the memory doesn't change too under X :
when I'm on AC (performance mode) and then I start X : I see 812Mhz.
when I'm on Battery (powersaving mode) and then I start X : I see 800 Mhz.

When I change the state of the power source (plug/unplug the AC), powermizer always show me the same things.

I'm running with the adaptive mode under performance and powersaving modes and this is updated correctly during an X session : So I'm seeing the GPU frequency which moves.

Is it a problem with nvidia-settings, which doesn't read correctly the value from the card. Or is it another problem ?

Thx for your help,
Best regards,
