The best "Windows" OS ever, maybe. I think it's close between that and Windows 2000 myself.

Just got my copy of Home Premium x64 that I preordered from NewEgg.

Its not actually mine though. I'm building a gaming system for someone.

Half my colleagues still use XP. It is so archaic, I can't figure out why they would waste their time.

People can have such inertia to new technology, it's pretty amazing

Really? Nice one! It's Belkin model no. F5D8053 V3 which I got as part of a combo...

There's no rush as I bought a Cisco G adapter last night to keep me going, but if you could find a driver it would be much appreciated, cheers . BTW I'm running W7HPx64 .

Most lightly because they don't need the features of Windows 7, and maybe because it's more compatible for them.

ok, good and bad news

first good, i was right, your card is based on Ralink RT2870 chip.

you can get the driver here
http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=1
USB (RT2870 /RT2770 /RT307X /RT2070 /RT3572)

problem is that it seems Belkin and Ralink broke their relationship. only version 3 of your USB adapter is based on Ralink, all future versions are based on Realtek chip.

This will take a bit of work, but you will have to mod the ralink driver and add your Belink device ID into it, which is: USB/VID_050D&PID_8053

that driver supports few manufactures by default

"Gigabyte GN-WB30N 802.11n USB WLAN Card" is probably one of the closest matches to your card.

you could try and force install your card as "Gigabyte GN-WB30N 802.11n USB WLAN Card"

You have to do that with Linux sometimes because they change their chipsets so much, wireless being exactly that.

Got my copy of Windows 7 Pro in and installed. All is good, I went the fresh install instead of the upgrade just to have a nice fresh copy of windows on my PC.
