Default full speed fan after nvidia driver install

Hi all,
after installing nvidia 185 drivers for my GeForce 8400M GS, I've experimented the following issue: when gdm (ubuntu graphical login) appears, fan starts running at full speed and keeps going on for a few minutes. Then it returns to low speed...this obviously happens on resume from suspend/hibernation and when logging out.
I tried old 173 drivers and this not happens, instead 190 beta are like 185.

Any suggestion?

There are a couple threads about the same problem. It appears to be a problem with the 8400M. I don't know of a solution. I'm still patiently waiting for this to get fixed. Can we get a status on this from a developer?

Yeah, it would be nice.

I don't want to stay with 173..190 and 185 are really good.
