Could someone send me a link to where i can download dx for win 7

Is there a any updates? not sure where to look

Im sure the latest update for ANY OS platform is DirectX 9.0c (Aug 09) right?

huh? w7 has dx11. not sure if u can find an update for that but why are you looking?

The Aug 09 version is the latest available. I'm not sure what runtimes ship with Win7. If you are using it with retail games, they will include the required DirectX version itself. If you are downloading free/indie games/apps these latest runtimes will definitely be all you need at this time.

FileHippo is wrong stated DirectX Aug 2009 update is for DirectX 9.0c, the file contain updates for all DirectX versions 9, 10 and 11.

The August 2009 DirectX redist updated Direct3D 11 to the latest version.

athlon would you know if the updates that you listed is which comes with the win 7 or should we all download the update

I installed Windows 7 on VMWare to checked it out, the file listed did not come with Windows 7 RTM as the file is dated 4 September which is newer than DirectX 11 RTM on 14 July. Upcoming DirectX 11 games will use the d3dx11.dll file so you should all download DirectX August 2009 update.

i had to install dx9 on my retail of 7 pro for dx9 games

I got this surprise the other day. Clean new install of W7 home and then installing Entropia it also installed a LOT of DX SDK's. Many of which said dx9. I only allowed 40gb for the os partition and Adobe installs every thing to C instead of asking where asking. I really hate that.
