Default simple GUI operations cause sound stuttering

I use Pulseaudio 0.9.19 and a KDE 4.3.2 desktop and unless I change the scheduler of the Pulseaudio daemon to roundrobin with 90 priority I get a lot of stuttering and crackling. Disabling compositing effects won't change anything. I use Debian testing/unstable.

This occurs mostly when I do something in the GUI (open menus). Pulse never eats more than 3-5% CPU and there isn't anything other hogging the system either.

PS:
All Vimeo videos (but one) stutter a lot (unwatchable constantly stuttering audio) too.
