Default 6600GT locks up the system

I first noticed this problem while watching flashes fullscreen, it took about 10 minutes to freeze.
The sounds continues to play and the screen just stops at one frame.
I have to wait for 20-60 seconds and then it will continue playing normally.

At the time i was using 180.xx drivers installed with envy and using kernel 2.6.28

So i decided to compile the 184 drivers. They just ended up doing this problem worse, the lags/freezes/crashes happened more often than with the older driver.

While playing games like nexuiz it froze right after the menu popped open, i had to do a hard boot.
But then again i could run Call of Duty 2 (using wine offcourse) with lowest settings possible.

After searching google, i found out that people say it was a problem with that kernel, so i did install 2.6.31 kernel, and compiled the 190.42 driver.
But once again, no help.

It crashed right after starting any game, i encountered this problem even with browsing google search results too fast. The picture distorts for a small part, and then fixes itself up after a 2-5 second freeze.

At this point i changed agpgart to NvAGP, lowered AGP speed to 4x, disabled fastwrite, and adding more cooling power to the card just to see its not a heat problem.

I could play ~5 minutes, followed by system freezing.
After a minute i could log in to VT and kill the game.

My dmesg right the crash.

NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 6, PE0002 1818 3f800000 000f96b8 ffffffff ffffffff
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 9, Channel 00000020 Instance 00000000 Intr 00000080

and a little later

NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 62
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 6, PE0002 1818 c053b26e 000f96b8 ffffffff ffffffff

I have done pretty much all i can figure out, but i just have no luck getting this work properly. I can preproduce this crash when i want.

I never noticed this in my dmesg before.. Maybe its caused by the new kernel.

nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint.
