damn you EA and Bioware
stupid DAUpdaterSvc serice aka Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater Digital management system for Dragon Age: Origins downloadable content. because of this stupid service is installed on the F drive where game resides, now Windows 7 Backup thinks that F drive is a system drive and won't let me deselect the F drive. forcing me to backup additional 489GB, because of one stupid service. before I used to make bi-weekly C and D drive backups about 100GB.

I had something the other day where I tried to load my game before my logon was done and it said "cannot load game, contains premium content please login to veryify."
Bioware forums say you CAN play with DLC without being online, so... WTF?

Wow, they're completely dropping the ball. They can't even get their site together, and now this? With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up real soon, I really don't think they're going to get off their asses to address most of the stuff until next year. I've already given up on the fact that they'll never patch Mass Effect again. Hell, most people still can't even play the game because of the GPF issues, and they've already gotten credit from EA.
I swear to God, if Mass Effect 2 is a turd I'm going to skin every single one of those shems. They're losing my faith as a quality company, unfortunately. |

No, you can't. Your profile has to go online to verify otherwise the DLC will say unauthorized. So maybe you can disconnect from the internet after, but you will need to connect at some point before loading a game.

Oh?! Tell us more.
Wouldn't be surprised if EA stop it though, people could share round the DLCs. |

There are about a dozen issues with DLC and Dragon Age, though, and any one of them can cause you to have to re-activate them every time you play. Try going into your Settings\Addins.xml file and everywhere you see "RequiresAuthorization="1" change the 1 to a 0 and see if that fixes it for you. |

This game is SO freakin epic!! I am only about 15 hours in or so, completed the tower and redcliffe and have been in Denerim for about 2 hours. Now I am finally getting a bulk of the side quests and there's a ton to do. Hardest part for me so far is one of the side quests in Denerim where you have to go in the basement of some place and there are a ton of enemies in each room, and it's almost impossible to just aggro one group at a time without getting them all. I think I had to reload like 5 or 6 times to finally beat it - felt great when I finally did, though.

I was surprised that it was a side quest, too... hopefully there are more like it. I guess my next stop will be to finish this Urn quest as there are a few side quests I am not sure I can complete yet because they involve crafting items I can't seem to find from any vendors.
