Revenants are a pretty typical tank and spank affair, but for that strategy you would need a dedicated healer. I usually have alistair as my tank (who also has the highest armor value, and therefore the highest threat) and my dual-wield warrior off to the side or the back. Wynne and Lelianna are positioned out of the way of his cleave attacks. Then its just a matter of dpsing him down and keeping the melee healed. I will say that two spells will greatly accelerate the revenant's defeat: misdirection hex and death hex. You just have to be careful when you cast them since they pull a crap load of aggro.

You know, I'm really surprised just how well the combat system in this game works and how much its kept me interested.

It isn't perfect but its strategic, it looks great, it actually has a very physical feel to it, and it has a ton of variation. I don't know if I could go back to the days when you either had a magic user or a guy who stood there and senselessly bashed on the enemy with a melee weapon. Giving abilities to every class and unlocking new ones as you progress is just awesome. I know tons of games have done this before (KOTOR was probably the first that I played) but I don't think its ever worked better than it does in Dragon Age.

I have to be approaching 80 hours in this game and I still find myself totally glued to my screen for hours on end. And to think I was worried about it being boring after playing the first few areas...

Update guys. Good news is RTO is very close to release, bad news they basicly confirmed it was held for pc because of an issue with xbox 360 update. Don't think it was a very smart business move with ME 2 being released right now, they could sold quite a bit of rto pc while people were waiting for me 2.

Hi all,

The community update will be a regular feature going forward. I'm hoping to get it on a regular schedule, but this is new process for us all, so the first few may be scattered through the weeks ahead, but we want to make sure you are updated frequently and have a solid source for info, so watch for more of these (as well as other happenings in the Dragon Age universe) in the News forum.

The next edition of the Xbox 360 title update is currently in testing for certification. We expect this process to be complete soon. Once we are certified, we will immediately begin work on deploying. What this means is that the notification of the release date could come... on the release date! We're a matter of days away, and looking forward to getting this on your hard drive for keeps. We're moving quickly, but will try to be as timely as possible with further information updates.

Return to Ostagar will be released for Xbox 360 and PC within a day or two of the title update. The PS3 release date is still pending. Again, keep watching for updates. In the meantime, you can read MMOMFG's first impressions for some excellent preview information.

The items fixed in the Xbox 360 update are:

Some players were unable to unlock the four achievements from Warden's Keep and the Stone Prisoner during the first four days of launch. These achievements will unlock properly once you sign in to your Xbox Live and EA accounts.

The previous Xbox 360 update update introduced an issue that relocked class specializations. This title update will resolve that issue.

* After loading a previously saved game, specializations that have been unlocked through gameplay will be available again.
* All book-based specializations will now automatically unlock once the Warden reaches level 14. Books will still be available from vendors so you can unlock these specializations before level 14.

The Hopeless Romantic, Perfectionist and Recruiter achievements were not unlocking for some players. This issue has been resolved. To update and unlock these achievements automatically, load a saved game where the Warden has completed the requirements for these achievements.

* The Recruiter achievement will still require a recruitment to occur after the save is loaded. If you have completed all the requirements for Recruiter, and the achievement is still locked, load an earlier saved game where you are still able to recruit any party member. Once you have recruited a party member, the achievement should unlock. This should work even if your current saved game still has unrecruited characters, but you have recruited all of them in previous play.

We also wanted to include a couple more news items here.

Starting next week, international gamers will be able to purchase Bioware points-in-a-box at select retailers, allowing them to purchase and experience DLC. At this time, we can confirm that they will be available in Germany, Poland and Russia. We're pulling together a complete list of countries where this will be available and retailers, and will update this message with that information.

Green Ronin announced that pre-orders of the Dragon Age RPG will be shipping this week. (Thanks to greywardens.com for the scoop)

So I wanna play this again. What's the best Origin for an Evil Character? I was thinking a human noble, but a City Elf might be better, or even a Dwarf...

I was thinking Human Noble for Power! Do anything for Power!

I sort of petered out on this game. I'm at a fairly difficult part and every time I play it I lose interest. It happened pretty suddenly one night after playing for only a couple hours, I'm not sure why.

Spoilers:

I'm at the Anvil of the Void and I'm at a spot where two strong golems (yellow names) attack you at the same time and you can't do anything to get the drop on them because they are "inactive" until you cross a certain point. I could beat them if I used half a dozen healing poultices and sacrificed my mage (the golems both hurl stones when they see you and the blast radius almost always hit every character in my party) but its just a bit of a frustrating fight to jump right into. IMO, the quests involving Orzammar and the Deep Roads drag out too long. This feels like the longest part of the game that I've come across so far... all to find some woman that is supposed to get involved in politics. It just isn't terribly interesting considering all the work you have to do.

Its hard to complain though. I have over 80 hours into the game and it was a blast up till this point and it will probably be better after I get out of the boring underground areas.
