Thanks for the info regarding the quad! I will definitely buy GTA 4 and a quad, but not this month.
Maybe they will release a complete package which will include everything

Yup, the time has come for gamers to move to quad core CPUs.

Am i glad that i haven't bought a i7...
But great to see a game which is using many cores. though, i will try it first on my ancient system because i also have to buy a new car since the quad won't drive me to work.

My Q9550 runs everything great... I won't be going i7 for a while, if at all. What comes after that I wonder?

But since Intel, AMD and nVidia are not focusing on graphics and PC Gaming anymore, which is one of the reasons why we are getting so many console ports, i guess a DX11 card and a Q9550 will be okay.

Bollocks, core 2's are vastly superior to the pap processors in consoles, it's poor coding from rockstar, no surprise considering gta4 looks and runs like **** even on the platforms it was built for.

+1

Saw comprasion back in the days and C2D X6800 had more GFLOPS than Xbox 360 processor. People just got their brains washed with marketing BS that consoles have some uber processors in them.

You do realize that GTA IV is about the most demanding game to date? It runs great on my setup with the 181.22 driver at 1440x900.

If you tried to run GTA IV on a PC clock for clock the same as a console, haha, good luck with that.
