Default Major issues with 40 dets.

To the moderators:
Please don't move this because it will get lost in the other thread.
Flickering and missing textures in UT 2003 build 927. MAJOR texture corruption.
The Thing is a slide show with these drivers.
Battlefield 1942 screen blacks out briefly{Not a vsync issue}
And of course Rivatuner doesn't work with it.

why does this need it's own thread?

they are beta of a new breed of drivers, of course there are bugs... as it stands:

You stick with the problems (if you have any) or you go back to a prior set.

UT2003, it's obvious there is going to be issues with a many months old beta-build of a game...
And for the other issues, I've tried these drivers on all of the other 2 games you listed, and I have no issues whatsoever, so I have no clue other than 1942 is a beta as well...
The only issue I had was with that SpeedTree demo from the other thread...

RivaTuner is just obvious...

oh, and it really doesn't need it's own thread, I'm sure this has been discussed already...but I'll let it slide this time because that thread is so huge...

Yes these are BETA drivers but if you don't report the bugs/problems, NVIDIA will not know about them and will not fix them.

Malachi:

Give some system specs too. They're useful to the coders.

Here are my specs:
WinXP home
AMD XP 2000
MSI KT3 Ultra motherboard
512 MB PC2100{Crucial}

The thing about the UT build is that it worx fine with the 30.30 or 30.82 driver sets and the Thing worx better with these to. Thanx for letting me slide!!!

nVidia knows perfectly well what they have to do... I don't think anyone here can tell those guys what to do. Otherwise, you'd be working there, unless ATI gave you 15 grand more and a car.

But then you'd have to live in Canada... eeeeeehhhhhhh.....

If you have trouble, redeploy to the 30.x drivers till the problems are resolved in a future release, then its all good. I have texture flashing too, its a no brainer.

If it works for you its great, if not redeploy to a previous driver version.

I would like to know if anyone has obtained a SIS 648 board yet, they should be out anytime.

I tried UT2003 build 927 with the 40.41's, and it seemed fine, other than one issue (get to that in a minute). I actually played a few rounds for the heck of it, and everything seemed smooth (well, smoother than with the 30.82's I was using before.)

As far as the issue I noticed- I used the UT2Intro.UT2 map (look in the maps folder, double click it, it'll run). Pretty cool intro. Anyway, while running that, I noticed that the captain for the first team now has a solid gold 'spacesuit' on. Or at least that's what it looks like, complete with reflections. Also, many of the other characters on each team appear to now have glossy (leather?) outfits, though everything else looked fine about them. (ie- many were wearing combat fatigue-like clothing, and still were, including the right colors and stuff, but now there's light reflecting off of the, um, curves. Try it, and if you get the same thing, you'll know what I'm talking about).

A quick note- I only changed the anisotropic setting in the drivers- from 0 to 1, before testing. No AA, no additional aniso, no texture sharpening, nada, zilch. Mainly because that's what I was using with the 30.82's before, and I wanted to see what the difference between the drivers would be.
