Your theory of IW abandoning PC still makes no sense rudedog, no offense. They put a lot of effort into the PC version this time, even if it was effort toward a goal you don't agree with, and the game is selling like gangbusters.

IW's next CoD will be on PC, have no doubt.

None taken, I should have said, we'll see more of a console version on the PC with IW's releases and Treyarch will cater more towards the PC crowd by keeping all the features the PC community have come to love and expect. The real test for MW2 will be once the honeymoon is over, how well with the PC players pay for DLC and how well IW supports the PC platform with patches.

The hints from Treyarch is they're still a PC dev team at heart and not to worry. We'll see what that means in another year.

I gotcha... it will be something to see. If MW2 is selling as well as people say, I wonder if Activision will force Tretarch to do an IWNet-like solution?

I think Battlefield BC2 will be a another test as well... will that sell more or less than MW2 on PC? EA will be watching.

As a singleplayer guy, all I personally care about is we don't get skipped over again like with CoD3, but as a gamer interested in the business side of things do find these questions very interesting.

they could have a zombie mp mode, except instead of zombies... you have to punch and kick your way through a constantly re-spawning wave of 5 year olds and see how many you can bash before they overwhelm you.

I think Treyarch is given too hard of a time about their games. In fact, I guess my opinion differs from most people. While known as Grey Matter they developed Call of Duty: United Offensive which improved on the gameplay of the first one.

IW came out with Call of Duty 2 shortly after and everyone was so happy and excited, but once again the PC community did get screwed with that game. Did everyone suddenly forget the 8 month wait for Punkbuster and all the nice promises fourzerotwo made back then. Most of those were never quite fullfilled.

Then Modern Warfare is realeased as a great success for IW. Granted I will give them credit on that one, a great idea. But personally I missed WW2 and slowed down gameplay.

Then Treyarch arrives with World at War, Nazi Zombies and Pacific Theater done correct unlike the mess that was Pacific Assault. Sure it copied Modern Warfare in many ways, but what they did was quite successful.

Now we have Modern Warfare 2, PC community gets screwed again. Fourzerotwo makes more idle promises (had to hear that crap from a few clan members, i figured it was all lies). This is another repeat of COD2, but at least that game had dedicated servers. I think Infinity Ward has lost all their good credibility on pc from all of this. I look forward to Treyarch taking over the PC space. They do a better job in my opinion.

Treyarch might do a better job on making the game's PC version, but they do a much worse job on the game itself.

I think the latter is more important.

you know vietnam, korea ect are good ideas, but what about forgotten wars lol.

What about Call of Duty 1776, or Call of Duty Gettysburg, Call of Duty Texas 1836, Call of Duty Trench Warfare :P

1776 would be the best lol, learn new stragey indeed, stand in a line and shoot or your dead and game pace could finally be slower

It's harder to make original games, that look, sound, and play similarly enough to fit into an established mass market segment. It's not getting harder to make original titles. Originality isn't a function with a finite solution. It's just impossible to ad infinitum increase sales figures while creating original content. But that's because the corporate growth model is unsustainable.

I think they already are. L4D vs L4D 2. 1 year apart. Standard Valve sequels span 5 years.
