Crazy... the first was fun, but then... this is the exact same thing. Last Mario I REALLY enjoyed was 64... Sunshine was complete garbage, and Galaxy was fun for a little bit... but nothing that I care to keep in my library of games.

God forbid they judge a games look on its art and style over how many bumpmaps and lvls of AA it has.

exactly! The game is not meant to be real looking. It does look fantastic. The first one was fun but I mainly watched my son play it. I think I'll play this with my son.

Mario 64 as mr hunt said, now that was a brilliant game.

You're probably one of those jackoffs that think Crysis is a good game.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks incredible. Art over technicalities in my book. I think Psychonauts still looks great even with its significant age.

Yeah... I hate on the Wii, but I thought Mario Galaxy looked pretty good considering the limitations.

Gonna get this game right after I finish collecting all the stars in the original...I never did finish it up.

I got the game a couple days ago on launch. It's pretty damn good. Sort of mixes the overworld layout of New Super Mario Bros. with the level design, music, and artwork of Mario Galaxy. I have to say, I wouldn't rate it a 10, at this point, but it's easily a 9.5. The mechanics are the same (why change something that works?) but the game is 100% brand new. I wasn't expecting much, but it's shocking how good this game is considering what it's running on.

All in all, it's a very well done game. Nintendo went all out on this one.

I'd encourage you to give it another try. Few gaming experiences can compare to the concentrated fun that is a Mario platformer.

I'm highly considering getting a Wii again to catch up on some exclusives I missed, this being one of them. I have always enjoyed Nintendo games for pure gameplay as an addition to my more story-focused PC games, but I sold my Wii because the early exclusives were pretty tired and average.

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and Metroid Other M look really great though.
