Default vdpau bloking artefacts with h264 (maybe due to Weighted prediction for P-frames?)

Hi there,

Today I had a video showing blocking artifacts while playing it with vdpau. If I use mplayer's software decoder, the problem does not appear.

mplayer does not show any error/warning on the terminal while playing it.

The video was encoded with "x264 core 79 r1332 70f8869" using this settings:
Code:
cabac=1 / ref=9 / deblock=1:-1:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x113 / me=umh / subme=9 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.0:0.0 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=24 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=12 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / mbaff=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=6 / b_pyramid=0 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / wpredb=1 / wpredp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=25 / scenecut=40 / rc_lookahead=40 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=18.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=10 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:0.70
I uploaded a sample video (vdpau_artifacts.mkv) at Nvidia's ftp.

Note that a bug in x264 was fixed in r1342. (And Dark Shikari's sample video plays fine for me with mplayer -vc ffh264vdpau.)

The sample you provided plays flawlessly for me too, then I will assume it was the encoder's fault.

Thanks for the quick answer.
