I'm sorry mooninite, this thread got hijacked and I got sidetracked by the Fedora performance problem. Your problem looks unreleated and I'll see if I can reproduce the problem.

Thanks Aaron. This bug is still in 195.22 beta. It seems easy to reproduce by just scrolling up and down in Firefox. The web page doesn't matter. After 5-10 minutes you should see some nice Xid messages and lose your Xv overlay. Again, I've only seen this on my 9800 GTX+. All my other 8 and 9 series cards are working fine.

I've attached a 195.22 bug report just after I lost Xv. Uptime is 17 minutes.

I downgraded to X.org 1.6.4, but after a few minutes I got a few screen flickers and I lost XV output. What could it be?? Could it really be the hardware? Doesn't make sense.

If anyone was wondering about this issue (har har), I took out the 9800 and put it in another system replacing a 9600 that was working fine. The 9800 is working fine there so there must be a motherboard/PSU problem that just sprung up on the original system.

I changed PSU, reflashed BIOS to old versions, and created a new user on my system, but none of that made any difference.

... and strangely enough, updating to 195.30 tonight, I no longer see any flickers or Xid messages. Four hours running stable. Thanks. Merry Christmas.
