geforcefx 5200 problem

i hav just bought this card & after 1/2 hour my pc just shuts down & i hav to remove power lead for 5-10 secs & then plug it back in & then it works fine for about 1/2 hour , then the same things happens
i think its heat problen, so can u buy a fan for this card
can any 1 help

can you give more specs about the system and the card

and are you overclocking it?

get at least a case fan on your box, sounds like some massive overheating...

machine specs:
athlon 2000xp
gigabyte kt 400 motherboard
1gig 3200 ddr ram
40 gig hd
geforce fx 5200 128 meg (without a fan)
450 watt power supply

as for fans, i hav 2 on the psu, 1 on the mobo, 1 on the cpu & a side case fan.

i hav done no overclocking

First of all, I think you would need more ventilation in that case. You have some overheating there I believe. If you have one fan only, I would put at least one more, maybe in the back. Another thing would be to put some cooling on the card as well.
Just out of curiosity, which card is it? What brand?

Hm... no problems whatsoever with mine relating to heat, even after I bumped the RAM to 250 from 200, but I also have an intake fan blowing directly on it. Meh. Still, the thing has never even gotten remotely warm for me.
