Default 6600GT dual dvi + 185/190 = no signal, HELP!!

I finally upgraded my old mandriva machine to the latest 2010.0 x86_64, and there are only 2 nVidia drivers that will compile, 185.* and 190.*

Both produce "no signal" on my dual-head 6600GT setup. X is not hung, I just can't see anything. It's simple to Ctrl Alt F1 back to console and switch to nv/vesa.

Any ideas???

(Even single display config gives no signal.)
(And the nv driver limits me to 1280x1024 due to bogus "exceeds panel dimensions" for 1600x1200.)

Wow, this is hurting. Added working and non-working logs from 180.60 and 190.42

Oh I see, the panels are coming up CRT instead of DFP. How can I fix that?

I tried DFP / DFP-0 / DFP-1 in xorg.conf but it says:

Unable to find any of the requested display devices "DFP-0, DFP-1" in the list of available display devices "CRT-0, CRT-1".

Aha! The item in bold cured the issue.

Section "Device"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP-0, DFP-1"
Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP-0, DFP-1"
Option "MetaModes" "DFP-0: 1600x1200, DFP-1: 1600x1200"
...
EndSection
