Default What is this metamodes thing?

Hi!

Since nvidia-settings is not capable of setting up xinerama-setups, is there any user-friendly documentation about all this stuff like what metamodes in xorg.conf mean?

Can wrong metamodes kill your performance, like firefox behaving as it would have to draw on a much bigger screen and thus being slower?
I ask because i redid my xorg.conf and now my triple-head xinerama setup is alot faster and i wonder why.

Thanks!

Try Chapter 13: Configuring TwinView in the README.

That's possible. Old versions of Nautilus had a bug where it would repaint the entire screen whenever you opened a menu. It's certainly possible that newer applications have similar bugs.
