I was trying to play it on a 52in LCD but it looked very bad. Maybe it was the bland track as some of you said.

The handling in this game is way off. I play sim racers pretty regularly and this game just seemed like I was racing on ice the whole time.

back to Live For Speed.

Perhaps. But code is smaller than content, and I rather doubt that there will be many changes to actual game mechanics between now and release. I don't mind the graphics (given the small download size) but the driving itself seemed off to me.

If he thinks GT5 demo is like "driving on ice" then won't he find iRacing even more frustrating?

I'm spinning out and crashing in a Pontiac Solstice in iRacing.

You slip and slide on ice because you have no traction. When you take a turn so fast that you're over the traction limit for your tires you will feel like you're driving on ice.

Not really, there is still friction when you lose traction on dry tarmac. Losing traction on ice is more like hydroplaning through a puddle, there is little to no friction.

There should still be a lot of friction when a car over steers on tarmac, which is why the tyres will mark the road.

Basically you lose control when over steering, but not in the same way as when sliding on ice. The difference is mostly noticeable when you back off the throttle.

Cool Re: New GT5 Demo Dec. 17

GT5 TT demo is just for test driving the new physics they have implemented and nothing else.

The car is twitchy with controller but it is also very challenging. The new physics I think makes it more realistic. You have to be really precise and it takes lots of time, patience to learn. Which is good thing for racing fans although it can annoy many people.

I think GT5 will be much easier, it will have 2 physics and lots of driving aids too choose. Graphics are nice but looks same as GT5P Let us wait for proper demo in march, may be they release a decent demo then. They just need to fine tune and polish this game. Overall gameplay elements like AI, online will also be important. Cars, tracks and physics are looking nice

It has got unwanted criticism. This is a fair review of GT5 TT IMO

What FFB do you get that lets you know you're about to understeer or oversteer?

But generally I think that a lack of a sense of speed and a lack of feedback (G forces) is a problem with all sims. What happens is that your brain adapts to the cues you get from a certain game. Different games give different cues.

I agree the FFB and sense of speed are not great but it's much better than FM3 where the game steers for you and saves you from oversteer accidents. Also I prefer GT5's slippery grass to FM3 sticky physics defying grass.

I do not have wheel but some guys with fanatec wheel and others also thought FFB is not good http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123883

GT5P spec 3 physics was nice but I like the new one more. I think they have improved the physics. We will know in 100 days when it get released in japan I just wonder PD are listening to fans and going to make some final changes.Tracks looks nice, accurate but not sure they are lazer scan or not. However I read in codemasters forum that F1 2010 they are doing/done lazer scans for tracks and they get access to simulator of RBR also.

^^^ Sorry I think there is some confusion. By RBR codemasters din't mean the game will be very realistic like Richard Burn's Rally physics they were saying that they have access to Red Bull Racing F1 simulator But I think it will be nice F1 game after so many years
