Default Different wallpapers with TwinView on F12?

Hi,

I am using TwinView on a 9800GT on Fedora 12, with a 1280x1024 CRT and a 1680x1050 DFP. Configuration was relatively simple with nvidia-settings, but I would like to use different wallpapers on each monitor (even though the driver tricks GNOMS to think it's using a single screen, background is mirrored on both screens).

I tried using a 2960x1050 background image hoping it would span across both screens, but it didn't happen...

Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Regards,

Andre

That's a GNOME configuration issue. You can fool GNOME into thinking your TwinView setup is one giant screen by setting the NoTwinViewXineramaInfo option, but that will affect everything including maximizing windows. If you just want to span the wallpaper across both, you may need to file a feature request bug with GNOME.

Thks for the reply,

it does look like a GNOME issue, considering it is seeing both screens as a single 2960x1050 screen (according to System > Preferences > Display).

I'll file a bug report there to see if I get somewhere. I just hope it doesn't happen with nouveau driver, otherwise they'll probably simply close it as NOTABUG or WONTFIX.

Regards,

Andre
