Default Only 640x480, ION connected to Philips 47PFL9703

Hi.
I can't get the native HDMI resolution.
I have ION based appliance running Linux (2.6.32) connected to TV Philips 47PFL9703 via DVI-D <-> HDMI cable.
Seems like TV didn't use correct EDID, although in Vista I can use native HDTV, also I can see 1920x1080 in linux based media player (NMT-based, EGREAT).

I attach Xorg.0.log from Option "ModeDebug" "True";

Hi rmrfchik. The problem here is caused by the "UseEDID" "False" option. Please remove that option along with "ConnectedMonitor", restart X, and then generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file.

Oh, this is one of option I tried (to turn off the EDID and use hand-made modelines).

Here is log without this option (with default conf file created by nvidia-xconfig).
You can see:

(II) Dec 18 08:10:37 NVIDIA(0): Mode (1920 x 1080) is too large for DFP Native Resolution
(II) Dec 18 08:10:37 NVIDIA(0): (Max: 640 x 480); mode will not be allowed to scale to
(II) Dec 18 08:10:37 NVIDIA(0): the DFP's native resolution.

(WW) Dec 18 08:10:37 NVIDIA(0): backend DFP timings (mode is larger than native
(WW) Dec 18 08:10:37 NVIDIA(0): backend 640 x 480).

Please attach nvidia-bug-report.log.gz files instead of just Xorg.0.log because it's useful to be able to correlate the X log to xorg.conf. It looks like you didn't remove ConnectedMonitor. It looks like the driver was unable to read the EDID from your monitor, but it's not clear whether that's because there's something wrong or if your ConnectedMonitor line just names the wrong port.

If it really was unable to read the EDID, it might be worth trying to extract the EDID from Windows and then feed it into the Linux driver using the CustomEDID option.

Yes, I didn't removed ConnectedMonitor. Without this option, driver thinks there is CRT connected and I did not get _any_ output to DFP.
Here is nvidia-bug-report.

You can see, I used a packaged driver first 190.42, then downloaded a new version from nvidia 190.53.

Please do try removing ConnectedMonitor; I'd like to see if the driver is able to read an EDID from the device that way for some reason. Please also give 195.22 a try.

Hmm. I see detected EDID, but screen is black. TV states "No signal".
and when I use ConnectedMonitor DFP, I see X screen 640x480.

That's interesting. I wonder if your cable is confusing the GPU. Do you have a different cable you could try? Also, which version of the Windows driver were you using when you said it worked?

Since the driver *is* able to read the EDID but gets confused about the connection type, you should be able to feed the EDID back into the driver using CustomEDID:

Code:
  Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"
  Option "CustomEDID" "DFP:/path/to/phillips-ftv-edid.bin"
Attached Files
File Type: gz phillips-ftv-edid.bin.gz (247 Bytes, 94 views)

I haven't other cable. Windows is running on notebook with, sorry, ATI and connected with hdmi-hdmi cable. Multimedia appliance (egreat) is also using hdmi-hmdi.

My box has DVI and I use DVI and I use dvi-hdmi cable.

Your advise helped me, now I can use Full HD. Thanks!

Next step is audio over hdmi. I have "hdmi" device in alsa, but no sound in TV when use it.
