Any reason to keep nv driver instead of proprietary nvidia driver?

Whenever I install Nvidia proprietary driver and try to start X monitor goes blank and I can't do anything except restarting my system.

This is my xorg.conf file generated when I installed Nvidia driver 190.53 for linux.

File Type: doc xorg.conf.doc (5.7 KB, 84 views)

I tried using Nouveau but i am facing the same problem.

I tried with fresh fedora 10 installation with 8400gs card attached with it . when I generated the xorg driver driver was Nouveau. But when I did startX my screen went blank.

Yesterday I installed latest Nvidia driver i.e. 190.53 but same result
