Hi Zander,
Can you indicate when TwinView will support the rotation of individual monitors? Cheers, Jonathan |

xrandr goes only so far.
I've two monitors attached to my PC; one is fixed and physically can't rotate, but the other, larger, higher res monitor can rotate in to portrait orientation. xrandr will rotate both outputs, but can't rotate one and leave the other in normal orientation. nVidia under Windows can handle this correctly, but not under Linux. I run Linux and am wondering if/when this is going to be addressed. |

I am also waiting for this. AFAIK it is not possible at the moment.
You _can_ rotate one of two monitors using xinerama but you lose acceleration. |

I also wonder if such a twinview configuration were possible how subpixel font smoothing would work. Since X sees twinview as a single screen, the horizontal monitor would need RGB pixel order antialiasing, but the vertical monitor would need VRGB, or the fonts would look weird. You'd have to switch to uglier grayscale antialiasing.

I'm waiting for this too, I'm using xinerama and xrandr to rotate the second monitor instead.

Thanks for the offer. I've just had another crack at this and still have the
following results: TwinView: I can't get individual screens to rotate but Composite works Xinerama: I can get individual screens to rotate but Composite doesn't work This is with a twin output nVidia Corporation G84 [GeForce 8600 GT] rev 161 So, yes please, if you have compositing working under Xinerama or individual screen rotation working under TwinView, I'd love to see your xorg.conf. |

Just registered to +1 this. Super lame. I don't need to go 3200 px wide and only 1080 px high. But one 1920 x 1080 and one 1024 x 1280 would be fantastic. it works in Windows. Either open source the driver or make it functional.
