Starseige: Tribes

I know it had 2 sequels, but c'mon...can you really call them "sequels", they both went down the tubes on physics. Tribes 2 and Vengeance both sucked.

freespace
x-wing / tie fighter
wing commander

i really miss a space opera with a story. the last few (eg. X series) have all been too much focused on freedom and trading and had no epic storyline to go with it.

also i'd like to see some of the old action fighter / helicopter games come back from the dead

commanche
apache
battle of britain
red baron
etc

I agree with Heavy Metal FAKK2, side-scrolling Metroid, and I think another Indiana Jones would be good.

A new Mechcommander would make me super happy.

#1 was the first game I ever played, on my first pc. I think it was a pentium 2. My brother got Commandos at the same time and we played the crap out of those two games.

I still remember the bit in the first level of Mechcommander where, if you placed the airstrike just right, you could get a Mad Cat. They were awesome. Plus it was great having a bunch of Masakaris at the end. And the pilots getting better throughout the campaign was cool.

As others already mentioned:

Descent
Mechwarrior
No One Lives Forever
Carmageddon

I would also like to add:

Hexen (An old school favorite for me, I would like an Hexen III)
Crusader (No Remorse / No Regret, something that follows that)
Oasis (Beyond Oasis and The Legend of Oasis, something that follows that)
Double Dragon (I'm surprised no one mentioned that one)
Contra (C'mon guys!)
Vectorman (Another favorite old school IP)
Oddworld (I never tried Stranger's Wrath, it was supposedly good)
Killer Instinct (A third one was supposedly planned recently, I'm not sure if it's true)
Shinobi (The last one was on the PS2 I think, in around 2003 or 2004, can't remember)
Streets of Rage (Hell yeah! I would love a good 2.5D beat em' up with ragdolls haha!)
The Lost Vikings (I would really like that, c'mon Blizzard!)

shadow run

not that ****ty excuse for a game that was released a year or 2 ago, but a full fledged FPS open world based in the shadowrun universe with tons of rpg elements.
