Cinematic mod, by far.

This is not bad, but the cinematic mod maxes out the engine in ways you can't even begin to see with this rather impressive attempt.

+1 Cinematic mod totally transforms the game. All victor's mod does is update the lighting and SOME of the textures. There also seems to be quite a few bugs with it.

I installed it and wasn't impressed. It was like taking the graphics slider in the video options and sliding down a couple of notches.

The music in CM10 is also very good and really adds a lot to the experience.

It seems the 2 biggest complaints about CM10 is the character models (which don't have to be used) and only 64bit support which is also false because if you set the texture slider to high instead of very high, it works perfectly fine on 32 bit.

The new weapon models look amazing and the new firing mechanics and lack of crosshair on the screen only adds that much more realism.

My favorite part of CM10 is the extended draw distance. On the highway level when you come out of the tunnel and see that big bridge for the first time is absolutely amazing and without CM10's view distance modification, no other mod delivers that (to my knowledge)

Also instead of using 2D sprites for trees, a lot of them have been replaced by the actual tree models used in EP2 so all the hills and what not up on edges of the maps are lined with actual 3d model trees.

I threw together a quick video from Water Hazard (where I am at at the moment in my 10.02 playthrough).

Note the time of day has changed to more accurately reflect what is going on in the game. It also adds a really cool feel to the game

The iron-sights are viewable and the trees in the distance plus some ambient sounds.

Note that this is an upload through movie-maker so there is an inherent loss in quality Original FRAPS video is about 3.4 GB and was taken @ 1920x1200 with all effects maxed and 8xAA, though you can't tell from the IQ reduction in sizing it for YT and publishing.

The image quality really is phenomenal

Looks great. I love the added water sound. That wasn't in the original, correct?

It was but it seems more pronounced now. Also, I had another video I didn't upload where you can hear crickets and other sounds in the background as you walk around

I'll try and take more videos, but FRAPS tanks my FPS I go from about 70-80 with mins in the 50's all the way into the mid 30's

Given that the enemy is now tougher, I will have to only take shots when I have killed them lol.

-edit-

Uploaded a short video from the entrance to Ravenholm. The additional vegetation makes it a lot creepier
