I tried installing the driver (190.53) for my new Nvidia Quadro FX 380 LP on a Ubuntu Karmic Koala and Debian Lenny systems. On Ubuntu I used EnvyNG. On Debian I used the Nvidia package. The driver seemed to install fine. One sign is that the onboard ventilator of the FX380 stops spinning at max speed after restart of X. But the screen which is connected via Displayport remains black.
Does anybody have an idea where the problem could be. I am thinking that the problem must be related to the configuration of the xorg.conf file. Any help would be very welcome (I'm not a complete Linux newbie, but not a pro, either). As a side information, I was able to install / configure this graphics card on Windows XP without any problem, so the card is working fine and the connection between the card and the screen also. |
