I plan to begin comparing performance against the Radeon 5870 after I get off work tomorrow and into the weekend. I already have DX9/DX10 results against the GeForce 280 GTX and GeForce 295 GTX. The apps I will be testing are the latest Unigine benchmark, Dirt 2, Metro 2033 and Just Cause 2.

It's just my luck to have come down with the flu the day after I received the GeForce GTX 480, so I am pretty much behind in what other web sites will be offering. I was floored when I read that the Guru of 3D will have a 35-page review!

There were also a number of developments that occurred this week. Version 2.0 of the Unigine Heaven benchmark was released a few days ago and I discovered that BitSquid has released a beta of their new StoneGiant DX11 demo.

So I will be posting information from my "First Look" in a forum thread. I am also open to conduct any specialized testing that forum members may request.

Image quality testing, especially when it comes to the new filtering modes that are rumored, would probably be interesting. If Guru3D really publishes a 35 page review that doesn't consist of 90% ads it should cover a lot of questions though... we'll know what's missing after that

I'd like to see some temperature comparisons between the cards if you have time. I'll probably be picking up a 470 for my renderbox and just have general interest into how warm 480 will get under load.

Would you please benchmark Crysis/Crysis Warhead as they are still the most taxing games out IMHO, and very popular. Also COD Modern Warfare2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 would be great!

I'm very curious to see how my new 5870 compares to Nvidias' best in these games that I play regularly.

Sounds great! Hope you feel better already and don't worry about Guru3d's review as that will most likely only consist of pictures of the card with a few written lines on 30 of the 35 of the pages! Are you using the 10.3a for the 5870? Also could you do a max OC vs max OC benchmark(many users would like to see this)?

Wonder if anyone will review/bench Age of Conan (game I exclusively play..so a bit selfish). The new feature of the FERMI based cards are supposed to allow for better AA of "grass" etc in the game
