Also, we received news about targeted prices for the parts, and they look quite competitive against six-month old ATI 5800 Series: according to the benchmarks leaked some time ago, GeForce GTX 470 will beat out HD 5850 and in some cases, even HD 5870 - for the price of HD 5850 - we were told that the ballpark figure is $299-349, while GTX 480 will run between $449-499.

If they are 449...then I'll get a couple of 480s

That would be slower than your triple crossfire setup overall....You'd need 3 480's in triple SLI.

450€ is actually 50% more than what I paid for my 5870 at launch!!
On the other hand its a lot better than previous Nv launch prices.I really hope the 100€ dif(current prices) is justified by GTX480s performance.

PS
I'm ready to post my 5870 receipt if Rollo asks me too.

Adds another 11 day wait beyond the 26th of march at the minimum, though it is weird if it's actually Nvidia itself shipping them out directly, and not the vendors themselves.

Final driver could bring more performance, everything we have seen regarding benches/leaks could be true but @ that moment .... but on 26 March or later we could be seeing more interesting benches

Well, classify this one onto the pile of rumors stack....Seems that at least the first GTX480 cards will have 480 shaders, not the full 512 that the architecture has.

One of these will be disabled basically:

Again,it's just a rumor,so don't shoot the mailman....

Seems to be confirmed by add in board partners, here:

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news...s-confirm.aspx

The number of 512 core parts is quite limited, and reserved for the Quadro FX5900 and tesla C2070 boards showing up in Q3/2010,While the Geforce version tops out a 480 shaders and it seems ATI is already preparing it's answer.
