DRM is mostly there to stop little jimmy from burning his store bought copy for his friend. Also it has proven that preventing 0 day releases or pre-release leaks helps sales. I believe Bioshock was uncracked when it first released for a bit which helped its sales.

i have a question..why is every topic related to DRM, cd protection, or any other device to prevent piracy always started by the guy who pirates all the games. I think its his little confessionbox, to justify his actions!!!!

Yes all the X's proves its your account!

BTW Steam Calculator website isn't a good judge of how many games you own. It only shows I own 188 when Steam counts 228.

Your steam name is personal? so you never game online on steam? None of that information you so called blocked is vital and can be easily access by anyone who is on a server with you.

Sometimes when you see those drm in the store page you'll feel frustrated and stumped because you'll ask yourself "how can my damn machine run all of those things?" My PC will BSOD every 5 minutes I swear!!

Then you fire up the game and it runs as smooth as a baby's bottom.

Most of our PC's here can run all of those crap, this aint the pentium 3 era.

And, if you are not going to buy something out of principle, why pirate it? I have refused to buy MW2 because I refuse to pay $59.99 for a game (unless it is a special edition) and am waiting for the price to drop. I have not pirated to make some kind of statement.
Exactly.

If you buy the game and then crack it no one will hate you for it, no one will call you a thief. If you refuse to buy the game and download a cracked copy however you ARE a thief, you ARE an ass, and people WILL hate you for it.

It's very simple... want the game but hate the DRM? Buy it and crack it. Want the game but refuse to support a company using such DRM? Don't buy it and make a stand, also don't play it.

Those are your options.
