Hi,
My friend recently bought a dedicated server, but we want to set up a pop3 mailserver and a web mail server if possible? I cannot find any software to do this? Could anyone recomend some FREE mail software for a linux server?

qmail? to send mail. www.sendmail.org qpopper is a pop3 server (probably the pop3 server :-)). www.eudora.com/qpopper bind for DNS or a domain hosting service so oururl.com is a valid domain (it costs money no matter how you create oururl.com as a valid domain). If you register it with a domain registrar then it is cheap ($15 USD I think). If you pay for someone else to host your domain then it is probably big bucks (and then you don't need your own computer anyways). www.isc.org for BIND (which IS THE DNS software of the Internet). |
