I just made a thread about that, it counts for all Ubi games so I thought it deserved a seperate conversation.
I'll still buy it, chances are you can hack out the server need if you really need to someday. That said I hate the decision.

$60 is pretty expensive for a PC game, considering its a console port as well. Oh well, at least we're getting the DLC together with it, and any additional DLC should be free too. (At least, thats what i understand from the article)

Why were you pissed? Steam has an offline mode. I actually use it on my laptop often when I am out of town.

because they don't have to pay royalties to hardware makers.

Considering its not any special/limited edition with extra stuff you usually dont need, not in any special kind of box packaging, no exclusive content, plus its just a port from the consoles, i dont think it should cost $60. In a way, you're actually paying for the DLC which console owners also have to pay for, theres no difference there.

Ubisoft has some of the worst customer support next to atari. If they actually want $60 for a game, they had better make sure it works when its released... Then again, knowing ubisoft, loads of people will have issues with the game that they will completely ignore.
AC2 worth $30 at best. |

How does that relate to you personally? I am asking why a PC game is not worth $60.
