Doesn't matter in any case. This will likely be cracked before the game hits shelves or soon after.

Its about time developers/publishers were doing this. I just hope it works against piracy and if it does i hope that other developers/publishers do the same with all games.

It will probably be cracked before the authentication servers are online.

it won't be, if small pieces of games are not on the media (cd/dvd) but instead have to be downloaded from the server straight into secure part of memory, hence never touching the hard drive.

1) videocard performance and power consumption 2) horrible battery life in the "higher" end models.

They just need to do it like MS does with windows. You have to activate it online in order to play it. Problem solved. Zero piracy.
Or include a special USB drive that's packaged with every game that you need to play the game. |

What the hell?! I DO NOT HAVE internet connection on my gaming machine. I have 2 laptops and my gaming machine. Only laptops are connected to the router. I have always been to lazy and cheap to get wireless card for my pc, Becouse I don't play multiplayer and I like using pc without internet connection. I do not have to bother with antiviruses, firewalls and tons of other things. So I get max of performance.
I have problems running quite everything nowadays. Becouse almost everything needs internet. Tell me... This is really stuppid that I have to crack my own games to get em working. (I would do this anyway becouse I hate to input DVD everytime I play). Devs should make every game nocd. This would save them money, becouse everything gets cracked. Guess its time to move on and install the damn Internet connection ![]() |

Best would be to do something like steam/direct2drive do and have the files all encrypted and to get it uncrypted the game has to be activated online. I mean steams encryption hasn't been totally cracked yet... |

Definitely boycotting all Ubisoft PC games now. I guess I need to go rent AC2 again and finish it on my PS3 since I won't be buying it. Complain all you want that "you're just denying yourself, and boycotts don't work", but what they are doing is wrong period. We as consumers have let s**t like this slide for years now on PC and at some point you have to draw a line in the sand and say no more. Activation was the last compromise of my consumer rights I was barely willing to accept. Always online for single player games is definitely not acceptable in anyway even if I have a extremely reliable internet connection.
