Just a tidbit. If you played and completed the Mass Effect iPhone game your party should be Jacob and Miranda for the most extra bits.

Otherwise get everyone and mix and match. There are some really cool characters. My fav is Miranda, Garrus and Kasumi has some cool stealth powers.

Just discovered garrus. Man is he epic. The dialogue and voice acting is so good without being boring. How exactly do i buy new wepaons/ammo or does that just happen automatically?

Hope you have money to shell out for DLC for weapons, armor, etc.

Bioware = DLCWare

But for the most part, you'll get new basic upgrades and some weapons by just playing.

well i wont be buying DLC, but i just wasnt sure how the game deals with the weapons. I have a tendency of missing simple but crucial game mechanics that make things a lot more difficult

i would have to think about it once i finish the game. i didnt even buy any of the spec ops skins for BC2 because in my case, they were totally unnecessary.

bc2 skins were awesome. 5 bucks well spent imo since I played the game so much I didn't feel bad buying it like 4 times (for friends etc).

but back to mass effect, I have the cerberus dlc which I believe comes with the game when you buy it new. but I was curious if the shadow broker and other bigger dlc packs were worth it.

ME2 DLC is worth it because they continue the story and fill in plot holes. Shadowbroker and Overlord were GREAT. Kasumi was ok but not nearly as cool but you do get a killer machine gun from it though.
