I have a Sony Vaio VPCF115FM with a nvidia GT 330m. The display works with the visa driver, but when I try using the 190.53 nvidia driver it can't detect my laptop's built in lcd, but the vga port works with an external monitor. When I look at the Xorg.0.log I see the following:
Code:
(WW) Jan 25 13:29:24 NVIDIA(0): ACPI: Error: Unable to find the DOS (Enable/Disable output (WW) Jan 25 13:29:24 NVIDIA(0): switching) file path under /proc/acpi/video. The NVIDIA X (WW) Jan 25 13:29:24 NVIDIA(0): driver will not be able to respond to ACPI display change (WW) Jan 25 13:29:24 NVIDIA(0): hotkey events Is there anyway to get the driver to detect my lcd? Thanks, Darren |

I also forgot to mention I'm running openSUSE 11.2 and I've tried both the 190.53 from the repository and the manual 190.53 install. I also tried the 195.30 driver and the kubuntu live cd with the 185 driver and those didn't work either.
Thanks, Darren |

I just bought a Vaio notebook with a 210m that had what sounds like the same issue. This page http://republicadelosbananos.wordpre...river-install/ had the solution for me. There are still other issues like screen going black if you drop back to the console and glitches coming back from hibernation, but it does get X up and running...
